Andrew (Andy) Pringle, CM

Andy is a founding partner and Chair of RP Investment Advisors, one of the largest alternative asset management firms in Canada.

Andy worked in the investment business at RBC Capital Markets from 1972 to 2002 when he retired as Managing Director, Head of Global Fixed Income, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Investments in Canada, having served on that campaign’s Independent Review Committee from 2007 to 2014.

Andy is Chair of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) and a Chair of the McMichael Canada Art Collection.

He currently serves on the Atlantic Salmon Federation and the Shaw Festival Foundation. He is the past Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board, the Board of Upper Canada College, the Shaw Festival and the P.C. Ontario Fund. In June 2016, Andy was awarded the Order of Canada.

Born and raised in Toronto, Andy lives in downtown Toronto. He and his wife, broadcaster Valerie Pringle, have three children, Catherine, Anthony and Geoffrey.
