Acupuncture

We use ultra-fine needles in acupuncture points to strengthen the immune system.

What we do

Traditional acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine practice that has been used for millennia to strengthen the immune system. During a session, your provider delicately inserts ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points.

In Chinese medicine, this is thought to help Qi, the vital energy of the body, flow freely and restore balance to the body.

Traditional acupuncture can be beneficial for treating:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Emotional problems and stress
  • Symptoms associated with various health problems, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory issues

Medical acupuncture

Medical acupuncture combines traditional acupuncture with a scientific understanding of pain and the nervous system.

In medical acupuncture, your provider uses acupuncture needles to stimulate nerves in areas of your peripheral nervous system (the parts of the nervous system outside the brain and spinal cord) that are not functioning as they should.

Abnormal activity of the nervous system can cause pain and other problems.

Medical acupuncture can help treat:

  • Repetitive strain disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis
  • Myofascial pain patterns, like temporomandibular joint pain, muscle tension headaches, cervical and thoracic soft tissue pain, regional shoulder pain
  • Degenerative disc disease with or without radicular pain
  • Pain after surgery
