Mount Sinai Emergency Department

The Emergency Department entrance is located on the south side of the main hospital building at 600 University Avenue. Please drop off and pick up on Murray Street, behind the hospital.

Coming for an appointment

Our services, clinics and areas of care are located across three sites at the following addresses:

  • 600 University Avenue (Main hospital building)
  • 60 Murray Street (Behind the main hospital building)
  • 700 University Avenue (OPG building, next to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre)

Please note: You may have to register at Admitting and Registration on the main floor of 600 University Avenue before going to your appointment. Please follow instructions from your physician’s office or clinic.


Getting here by car

Parking is available off Murray Street, behind the main hospital building. You can access Murray Street off Elm Street.

If you are dropping off or picking up, please use the Murray Street entrance loop at the back of the hospital. 

Please note: If you are going north on University Avenue during morning and afternoon rush hours (7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.), left turns onto Elm Street are not permitted. You will have to continue until you can legally make a U-turn and access Elm Street going southbound.

We have two public parking lots, both located behind Mount Sinai Hospital.

60 Murray Street parking rates

Monday to Saturday 

  • Each 1/2 hour or less: $5
  • Daily maximum: $22.50
  • After 7 p.m.: $6

Sunday/Holidays

  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: $6
  • 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: $6

40 Murray Street parking rates

Monday to Friday

  • Each 1/2 hour or less: $5
  • Daily maximum: $20.50
  • Early Bird: In from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and out by 8:30 p.m.: $15
  • After 6 p.m.: $6

Saturday/Sunday/Holidays

  • Flat rate: $6

Multi-day parking passes

If you anticipate visiting often, or expect a longer stay in the hospital, you can purchase a multi-day parking pass at a reduced rate. 

  • 5-day pass: $66.25
  • 10-day pass: $132.50
  • 30-day pass: $397.50

Please note: 

  • You can purchase the pass directly from the attendant on duty in the lot
  • Parking spots are subject to availability at the time of your visit
  • Passes are transferrable to others
  • In and out privileges are permitted
  • Passes are valid for consecutive and non-consecutive days
  • Passes are non-refundable
  • Lost parking passes cannot be replaced
  • Passes are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase

You can also find parking on McCaul Street, one block west of Murray Street, and at several lots close to Mount Sinai Hospital.


Getting here by public transit

Subway

Take Line 1 to Queen's Park Station. Follow signs for Mount Sinai Hospital. When you exit the station, walk south.

Streetcar 

  • Take 506 Carlton to University Avenue (Queen’s Park Station); walk south.
  • Take 505 Dundas to University Avenue (St. Patrick Station); walk north.

TTC - Wheel-Trans 

Wheel-Trans provides door-to-door accessible transit service for people with physical disabilities using accessible buses, accessible vans and sedan taxis.

We have three designated Wheel-Trans pickup and drop-off locations for Mount Sinai Hospital:

  • Main building: (600 University Avenue) North side of the revolving doors on Murray Street
  • OPG building: (700 University Avenue): Wheel-Trans ramp
  • Murray: (60 Murray Street) Walkway at south end of building

For your convenience, phones that auto-dial Wheel-trans services are located in the main lobby.

Taxis and ride-sharing

Taxis are available on University Avenue.

If you are using a ride share app, like Uber, please have your driver drop you off and pick you up at our Murray Street entrance.
