Dr. Alexandre McDougall

Dr. Alexandre McDougall is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with fellowship training in sports and spine medicine. He completed his medical school at Western University and his residency training at the University of Toronto.

Dr. McDougall furthered his expertise with a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, the top hospital for orthopedic care in North America. During this fellowship, he acquired advanced skills in non-operative techniques for sports medicine injuries, ultrasound, and fluoroscopic-guided procedures.

Dr. McDougall works with athletes starting in adolescence and with all levels of expertise. In the past, he has had the opportunity to work with the Brooklyn/Long Island Nets, New York Redbulls, and USA Soccer Extended National teams. He’s also covered large events like the Canada games and Ontario parasport games.

Dr. McDougall specializes in diagnostic ultrasound and therapeutic procedures with ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance. He uses a variety of advanced techniques and injectates such as corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma.

Outside of the Dovigi clinic, Dr. McDougall also works at the University Health Network. He runs a specialized sports medicine electrodiagnostic medicine clinic at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. He is also works at the Toronto Western Hospital Hand and Wrist clinic.
