Katrina Dekirmendjian is a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA), certified athletic trainer and certified orthopaedic technologist. She has served as staff at Mount Sinai Hospital since 2018.

Academically, Katrina is a staff lecturer, facilitator and preceptor with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Katrina completed her physician assistant degree at the University of Toronto. Prior to this professional program, she graduated magna cum laude from North Park University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.

Following her undergraduate studies, Katrina completed a year-long Athletic Training residency program in Chicago with the Orthopaedic Teaching and Research Foundation. In this role, she served as a physician extender and surgical assist. During this training, she became certified as an orthopaedic technologist specializing in the fitting and application of immobilization devices.

Katrina’s passion for health and wellness developed at a young age through her participation in competitive sport. During her undergraduate years, she was the captain of her women’s National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) soccer team.

As a physician assistant with a focus in orthopaedic sports medicine, Katrina specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries. She also serves as a surgical assist to the orthopaedic surgeons. Katrina’s primary goal is to deliver patient-centered care to return patients to the activities they love.
