Dr. Richard Osborne is a Family Physician and Acute Care Hospitalist at Sinai Health System. He completed medical school at McMaster University before moving to the University of Toronto for his Family Medicine residency and fellowship in Hospital Medicine.  He later completed his Masters in Community Health, also at the University of Toronto. Until recently, he worked primarily as a community hospitalist at Trillium Health Partners, where he was the site education lead. He is passionate about teaching with a focus on modelling the role of family physicians in delivering inpatient care. To this end, he founded the Hospitalist Teaching Unit at Credit Valley Hospital, which helps train Hospital Medicine fellows in a community-centred setting. Recently, he has started an academic family practice at Mt. Sinai Hospital and is currently exploring opportunities to promote the simultaneous practice of comprehensive primary care and hospital medicine. Other interests include quality improvement, clinical teaching, and writing.
