“As winter approaches and our clothing supply dwindled, we launched the Emergency Department’s clothing drive to provide essential items for our patients. This drive aimed to offer warm, comfortable clothing such as t-shirts, pants, sweaters, sweatpants, jeans, hats, socks and so on to ensure our patients’ comfort and streamline patient flow, therefore reducing discharge delays.

Driven by the dedication of our unit council and frontline ED staff, this initiative reflects their thoughtfulness in anticipating patient needs for the colder months. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed—your support has made a real difference for our patients!”

"On October 18, Canadian Library Workers Day, the library team at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital hosted a pop-up library on the main floor, showcasing health and wellness resources, collections, and services for patients, families, and caregivers. Thanks to a Sinai Health Foundation grant, the Patient Library, also located on the main floor, has recently expanded its collection of health and leisure titles in French, Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese, with more to come.

The Books to Bedside program continues to bring library services directly to patient rooms, thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers. Andrea, a Patient Librarian, collaborates with Therapeutic Recreation to hold monthly reading groups, where patients gather to read and discuss engaging news topics, advice columns, short stories, and poetry.”

"Sinai Health had successful participation at a nursing jobs fair at the Metro Toronto Convention Center on Saturday, September 21. "During the week of October 21, the Performance, Health Information Management, and Patient Registration teams celebrated National Health Information Professionals (HIP) Week to recognize the incredible contributions of all team members. From Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM) and Health Information Certified Associate (HICA) professionals to those with valuable expertise through other recognized designations and experience, these teams play a vital role in ensuring health information is protected, accurate, comprehensive, timely, and relevant.

We honour the significant impact health information professionals have on patient care, data classification and management, and health-care analytics, as well as the collective effort that drives the health system forward. Thank you to each member of the teams for your dedication!”
