Congratulations to Dr. Don Melady for being granted prestigious funding from the U.S-based John A. Hartford Foundation and West Health Institute.

Dr. Melady is a physician at the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre, researcher at the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Medicine Institute, and Geriatric ED leader.

The more than $4 million grant will support the Geriatric ED Collaborative, an interdisciplinary American and Canadian group, which focuses on quality improvement to optimize care for older adults in emergency departments across North America.  Dr. Melady is one of the few emergency physicians in Canada focusing on Geriatric Emergency Medicine. This grant is another example of Sinai Health’s international leadership in the field, benefitting patients across North America.
