Dr. Yenge Diambomba appointed as inaugural Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Sinai Health

As Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), Dr. Diambomba will provide leadership in the ongoing improvement and implementation of clinical information systems, and will contribute to the advancement of digital tools. The introduction of the new CMIO role comes at an important time in Sinai Health’s long-term digital strategy to prioritize investment in digital assets to advance quality, patient safety, and enable our care teams to deliver the highest quality of care.

Dr. Diambomba brings more than 20 years of clinical and leadership experience. An advocate for quality improvement, she has led numerous projects to build efficiencies in hospital operations and to enhance patient care. Including as the medical lead for the Cerner® implementation in the Department of Paediatrics.

Dr. Diambomba’s strong collaborative work with the Sinai Health Information Services team, along with advanced training in Medical Informatics make her uniquely positioned for this role. After completing medical school and a Paediatrics residency at Laval University in Québec, Dr. Diambomba pursued a perinatal-neonatal medicine fellowship at the University of Toronto. She then joined Mount Sinai Hospital in 2002 as a staff neonatologist.

Over the span of her career, Dr. Diambomba has held various leadership positions, including the Clinical Director of Nurseries since 2009, and Medical Informatics Lead for the Mount Sinai Women’s and Infants’ Health Program. She is also an Associate Professor in the University of Toronto, Department of Paediatrics.
