Throughout October, we’ll be exploring Sinai Health’s commitment to rehabilitation and complex continuing care, and our passion for connecting our patients to the right care at the right time.

At Sinai Health, we prepare people for the next step in their health care journey – whether that step is outpatient care, back home, the community or to palliative care.

Our focus centers on the quality of life of our patients and their families – working together as partners to achieve their health goals. These programs primarily reside at our Bridgepoint Active Healthcare campus, a 446 bed, internationally- recognized hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. Bridgepoint is the single-largest organization in Canada to concentrate on complex health conditions through inclusive care focused on patients’ humanity, innovative research discoveries and teaching.

Sinai Health’s rehabilitative care programs focus on neurological, orthopaedic and medical rehabilitation, optimizing patients’ independence, health and wellbeing. Our care is supported by fundamental research done at the Bridgepoint Collaboratory for Research and Innovation. Scientists at the Collaboratory, part of the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, work to understand changing health policy, create best practices and develop new tools to help patients with complex health needs.

We are leaders

  • The Bridgepoint Collaboratory for Research and Innovation is the only research centre in Canada dedicated to the study of chronic complex conditions.
  • Bridgepoint Active Healthcare is the first and only purpose-built hospital serving patients in need of rehabilitation or with complex, chronic conditions.
  • In May 2019, the new Academic Medical Rehab Unit opened to study, learn, and teach new and innovative models of care.
