Dr. Jordan Pelc

Dr. Pelc is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Toronto, where he completed his medical degree, residency and fellowship training, as well as a Master of Science in chemical physics. Dr. Pelc is the Hospital Medicine Site Director for Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, where he has helped facilitate a significant expansion of the clinical and academic output of the Hospital Medicine program.

Dr. Pelc provides care to inpatients in both acute and post-acute campuses at Sinai Health. He supervises medical learners at both sites and is also involved in formal educational activities such as small group facilitation, elective design and grand rounds development. Dr. Pelc’s academic interest is medical and psychosocial comorbidity. He employs both quality improvement methodology and narrative and ethical inquiry in his academic work. Projects have included optimization of medical evaluations during psychiatric presentations, improving care for inpatients with brain injuries and dementia, and exploring end-of-life ethical issues in palliative care.
