Clinical Nutrition

We provide evidence-based nutrition care.

Good nutrition can be an important part of a health-care plan. Registered dietitians and diet technicians provide evidence-based nutrition care for Sinai Health patients.

Our registered dietitians work closely with physicians and other members of the care team to help patients meet their unique nutrition needs.

We develop a nutrition care plan that is specific to you and may include any of the following:

  • Specialized diets to help treat specific medical conditions
  • Nutrition supplements such as vitamins
  • Enteral or parenteral nutrition (feeding tubes)
  • Education and counselling

The goal of your care plan is to support your recovery. It may also help you manage medical conditions and diseases such as the following:

  • Critical illness
  • Surgery
  • Cancer
  • Digestive issues
  • Kidney disease
  • Diabetes

Our registered dietitians work with adult patients across both hospital sites, and with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic
