General Urology Clinic

Our urologists diagnose and treat conditions of the urinary tract and reproductive organs.

What we do

Urologists specialize in conditions of the urinary tract, including the bladder, kidneys, ureters and urethra. They also diagnose and treat some conditions involving the reproductive organs.

What to expect

At your first appointment, you will meet with a urologist to discuss your medical history, symptoms and concerns. Based on your symptoms, a physical exam and diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, urine tests or medical imaging may be recommended.

When the test results are available, you will have a follow-up appointment to discuss the results and what the next steps may be. Our Urology team does not discuss test results over the telephone or by email.

We will then work with you to decide on a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. Your treatment may include medication or surgery.

As part of your treatment, our Urology team may consider whether you qualify to take part in a clinical trial. We will talk to you about the risks and benefits of helping to test innovative new therapies that are still in the experimental stage.

Be aware that not all our services are covered by OHIP, and there may be a fee. Your urologist will discuss all options with you.

Please note we are a teaching hospital, so you may see medical students, residents or other medical trainees as part of your care. Learners are supervised by other members of our dedicated health-care team who work together to provide you with comprehensive care.

What to bring

  • Health (OHIP) card or valid health-care coverage
  • A list of your current medication
  • A list of questions you want to ask
