David Dushenski

Dr. David Dushenski is the Chief of Emergency Medicine for Sinai Health, and Quality Assurance Coordinator of the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital.  Dr. Dushenski has been in full-time emergency practice since 1995 and is a Lecturer and Clinician Teacher at the University of Toronto in the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

He has been deeply involved in the development of the Emergency Department programs including the Quality Assurance Program since its inception in 2002, and the Emergency Department Point of Care Ultrasound program since 2008.  Dr Dushenski became the Deputy Director of the Department in 2012.

Dr. Dushensli has held education positions from undergraduate to post-graduate levels for the Emergency Department and at the University of Toronto since 1998, and has been faculty for the Supplement Emergency Medicine Experience Program since 2012. He was also a member of the Ontario Hospital Association Emergency Medicine Directives Working Group.

Education

Dr. Dushenski received his medical degree from the University of Alberta.  He completed both his Family Medicine Residency and his Emergency Medicine Fellowship training at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Dushenski has received the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Department of Family and Community Medicine, as well as the Anna Jarvis Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Emergency Medicine Teaching.
