Sinai Transitional Addiction Medicine Clinic (STAMP)

We provide specialized care to patients with substance-use disorders after discharge from an inpatient unit at Mount Sinai.

What we do

Our interprofessional team in the Sinai Transitional Addiction Medicine (STAMP) Clinic supports patients dealing with problematic substance use who were seen by the Addiction Medicine Consult Service while they were admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital.

To best serve your needs and unique circumstances, we offer drop-in appointments at the clinic as well as virtual appointments.

What to expect

We have an experienced team of health-care providers to support you during your treatment. You may be seen by an addictions psychiatrist, addictions and mental health clinician or an addictions medicine physician as part of your care team.

Our team will work with you to develop a care plan tailored to your individual needs. Your treatment may include any of the following:

  • Harm reduction support and supplies
  • Medication-assisted treatment for substance use
  • Transition pain medication
  • Counselling for substance use
  • Help with connecting you to community resources
  • Support and information for family members and loved ones

Once your treatment is stable, you will return to the care of your regular health-care provider or a Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic in the community.

Please note we are a teaching hospital, so you may see medical students, residents or other medical trainees as part of your care team. Learners are supervised by other members of our dedicated health-care team who work together to provide you with comprehensive care.

What to bring

Health (OHIP) card or valid health-care coverage, if possible. Rest assured, we will still see you if you do not have a health card.

How to access our services

If you were seen by the Addiction Medicine Consult Service while you were admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital, you can attend the STAMP clinic. We accept walk-in appointments during clinic hours. If you prefer a virtual appointment, we will send you a link to access your appointment.
