"I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each of you who came into work during the two major snowstorms that occurred over this past week.  Many of you arrived early or stayed late to support colleagues impacted by difficult travel conditions. Some even made arrangements to stay downtown to ensure your availability to work.

Your dedication and hard work during such challenging conditions did not go unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.  It’s because of your extraordinary efforts that we were able to safely care for our patients and maintain the operations of the hospital.

This type of event really shines a light on how dedicated and committed our people are to patients and to one another.

Please stay safe and take care of yourselves as the weather continues to change. Thank you again for going above and beyond!

Warm regards."

“Sharing a blurb from a former NICU parent: ‘My name is Kayla, my daughter Arielle was born at Mount Sinai Hospital on March 4, 2024, at 32 weeks and 3 days. I had such a desire and passion to get involved with the Parent Advisory Council to help give back and make an impact for all current and past NICU families. There are so many ways to get involved, in any capacity, and I encourage you to reach out when you are ready. Fueling this family lounge was of utmost importance and I hope you all enjoy these snacks.

Donated by all, these brands are so happy to be involved in this initiative. Some brands involved: Molly’s, Greenhouse Juice, Goldy’s, Nosh Balls and more to come.”

“In November 2024, we launched our Sinai Health to Home (SHtoH) program at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. Our short-term transitional program provides comprehensive care to our discharging patients. We recently had a face-to-face meeting with our Circle of Care SHtoH team and our social workers and PCMs.”

“Patient care continues: Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PLM) core chemistry lab.

In July 2024, PLM received an upgrade of a major chemistry system. Over the next six months, technical staff together with Dr. Felix Leung, Division Head, Biochemistry, and Kathy Yates, Senior Manager, Core Lab, validated nearly 100 unique tests to ensure proper performance, appropriate reference ranges for each test to define a normal result, and accurate transmission of results into the Lab Information System, EPR and OLIS. All of this was done while maintaining routine lab operations and 24/7 biochemistry service. On February 7, 2025, the team launched the new instrument without any difficulties.

Congratulations and thank you to this amazing team who made sure that patient care was not compromised.”
