What we do

Our patient labs collect blood, urine and stool samples that are needed for laboratory testing to monitor and diagnose health conditions.

We collect high-quality samples that meet all the laboratory requirements, ensuring a streamlined testing process. On a typical day, we see more than 200 patients.

What to expect

When you arrive at the lab, please take a number and a staff member will direct you to a cubicle when it is your turn.

Before we collect your sample, we will ask you several questions to confirm your identity.

If you are getting a blood test, the technician will make every effort to minimize any discomfort.  With a single blood draw the technician can fill the appropriate number of vials for the tests requested by your physician.

Our staff member will then give you instructions based on the type of sample needed.

If you are getting a blood test, the technician may fill several small vials or tubes with your blood. The same needle stays in your arm while the different vials are filled. The technician will make every effort to minimize any discomfort.

If you feel faint, dizzy or unwell at any time during the blood drawing process, please tell the technician immediately.

After your blood is drawn, the technician will ask you to press on the spot where the needle went in with a cotton ball to reduce bruising.

Once any bleeding has stopped, the technician will put a bandage over the area. If you notice bleeding after you leave, please return to the blood collection lab.

If you notice bruising after you leave, put ice or warm compresses on the area. Any bruising should go away after a couple of days.

Your samples will be sent to the laboratory for testing and the results will be sent to your physician electronically. You can also access your results through MyChart™
